A Team Members Club is a newly established social club for all people aged 14 and above. Breathing Space is part of the Aiming High programme and will provide disabled children and young people aged between 8 - 18 with the opportunity to take part in a series of fantastic dance projects across the County.  During half-term and Summer holidays workshops have been arranged to work with a specialist dance artist and take part in fun activities.  Workshops are specifically designed to ensure everyone can participate. Next workshop date is:

Cannock Childrens Centre are hosting a series of Community Consultation meetings (drop in sessions) during Spring/Summer 2012. The sessions are hosted by Dr Nick Hammond, an Educational Psychologist that supports schools in the Cannock area. The aim of the sessions is to host a one stop problem solving workshop for parents/carers to to talk about difficulties that their child may be experiencing. Concerns covered so far have included bedtime routines, supporting Autism, social and emotional development and anxiety. The consultation meetings will take place at the Cannock Childrens Centre, Cannock Road, Cannock, WS11 5BU on the following dates:

Midlands Psychology are going to be running a series of Adaptive Skills Programmes during the summer term 2012. The workshops are designed to improve the social and communication skills of young people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

5 - 7 year olds - St Lawrence Children's Centre, Gnosall, Wednesdays, 4.30. - 5.30 pm starting 13th June 2012 for a six week programme.

11 - 13 year olds - Haling Dene Centre, Penkridge, Wednesdays, 4.00. - 5.00. starting 13th June.

Staffordshire County Council's Outdoor Education Service in association with G8way is building on the success of last years Family Days and offering weekend activity breaks for children and young people with ASD or Asperger's Syndrome and their families in 2012.  Based at Laches Wood Outdoor Education Centre in the south of the County, these fun-filled weekends will offer families a change to have a break together and to enjoy a range of professionally lead activities in the company of other families.  The breaks are fully catered and residential from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.  Dates are as follows:

St John Ambulance have launched a new community transport scheme with the delivery of a new specially designed purpose built mini-bus to help those in more rural areas access activities such as lunch clubs, youth groups and social events.  The mini-bus is designed to allow up to 3 wheelchair users to travel using their own wheelchairs along with more mobile passengers and offers the reassurance of uniformed, fully trained and medically qualified St John Ambulance staff.  If you are a community group or school who feel that this service could be beneficial to you then please contact Bob Lee at boblee999@hotmail.com|
