Catering for Middle Schools

Middle schools are a stepping-stone between primary and high schools. eat fresh

Now more than ever children need to make informed choices about their diet - school, as a place of education, has a crucial part to play in promoting the message about healthy lifestyles.

For young people a healthy diet broadly means:

  • a balanced diet with plenty of variety and enough energy for growth and development
  • sufficient fibre-rich starchy foods
  • plenty of fruit and vegetables
  • not eating too many foods containing a lot of fat, especially saturated fat
  • modest amounts of dairy products
  • moderate amounts of meat, fish or alternatives
  • not having sugary foods and drinks too often

When starting a new school young people are faced with lots of changes. To help them find their feet in the dining room all new intake pupils will receive a welcome leaflet introducing the school meals service and answering some of the questions parents/carers and young people may have about the service offered.

Menus are refreshed twice a year and each time we supply menu leaflets for schools to distribute to all parents.  If you would like a hard copy please contact your school or E-mail: catering.service@entrust-ed.co.uk|
