Travel Week at Blackfriars and Coppice Schools
Both Blackfriars and Coppice Schools use TITAN. At a launch event First Group kindly arranged for a bus to pick up students from both schools and take them for a journey using public transport. Because of First and TITAN, many students had their first experience of using public transport (and wheelchair friendly too!), and they really enjoyed it.
The Mayor of Newcastle also attended and travelled on the bus with some of the students.
Their travel experiences will support parents and families in using public transport and helps equip them to travel independently within their communities. A pupil said 'its' great because I now know how to get around on a bus'.
We're off up Hanley duck!
Students from Blackfriars Further Education Department also planned a trip to Hanley using public transport.
