'Your Staffordshire' card - bus around for a pound
This free card is available to anyone under 20 living within the Staffordshire County Council area, and allows you to make any public bus journey which starts or ends in Staffordshire for £1. You can use it all day, any day, right through the year, not just term time.

Leg power

Public transport
Staffordshire is well served by regular train and bus services. Using public transport will usually be cheaper than owning and running a car. Many bus companies offer their own weekly, monthly or annual passes. Over time these can offer a substantial saving on your travel costs.

College transport
Some colleges operate their own transport which you can use or may offer help with transport costs. Contact them directly for more information.
Students with learning difficulties and disabilities
You may be eligible for a concessionary bus pass, which allows free public bus travel any time of the day within Staffordshire, and between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and all day weekends and Bank Holidays in other areas. You may also be able to get a companion pass too if you need them to travel with you. For more information and application forms see our concessionary bus pass| page.
Staffordshire post 16 transport scheme
This County Council scheme offers subsidised travel assistance to the nearest school or college offering your chosen course. To be eligible you must be 19 or under on 31 August 2011, studying a full time further education course and living in Staffordshire. Before applying be sure to read the full terms and conditions of the scheme|, and check out your other options as they may be cheaper and more convenient for you depending on your circumstances. A contribution| of £430 is required towards the cost but this is waived if certain benefits are being received.
