What happens after I have applied?

If you are entitled to help under the Staffordshire post 16 transport scheme this is what will happen once we have received your application form|.

We will check you application to confirm if you are entitled and what help we can give you

If you aren't entitled to help, or we are unable to offer transport to you, we will email or write to you as quickly as possible to let you know.

If you are entitled to transport through this scheme, and transport is available, we will email or write to you to confirm what help we can provide.Attached to the offer will be an invoice, a direct debit mandate and request for photographs where applicable

If you don't have to pay, we will write to you to confirm what help we can provide and request photographs to be supplied if applicable

Please read the letter carefully to make sure the offer of help meets your needs. If you do not wish to accept the offer of transport, please contact us as soon as possible using the number below

Invoices must be paid within 28 days of issue. Alternatively the direct debit mandate must be completed and returned to Staffordshire County Council as soon as possible for processing

Travel passes will be released once invoices are paid in full, or a completed direct debit mandate has been returned, processed and accepted

Local bus service and rail passes will be forwarded to schools or colleges for collection on the first day of term.

Passes on contracted school buses will be sent to your home address.

If your school or college is outside Staffordshire your pass will be sent to your home address.

Please note travel will not be allowed without a valid pass

It can take up to 20 working days after your payment or mandate has been received for us to issue your pass. You will need to arrange and pay for your own travel arrangements until then.
