Parent's Centre
Welcome to the Parent's Centre: a support and guidance area which aims to become one point of access for parents, carers, and families.
On these pages we have started to bring together all the information and electronic services that are currently available. This part of the website will be added to and developed on a continual basis as new services are offered and new agencies are formed.
The council provides a wide range of services giving advice and support and there are many other organisations that work alongside the council to provide additional help and advice. We hope that by bringing this wide range of information together and accessible from one place we will provide one single point of access that is both relevant and easy to use.
Follow the links below to learn more about the services we provide and can provide access to:
Parent Direct: Staffordshire Parent Direct is a free information and advice service set up to help working parents understand their rights, and any alternative options.
Childcare: The Childcare and Early Years Unit is responsible for ensuring that the early years and childcare needs of families in Staffordshire are met. We work with children, parents and carers. As well as giving information to parents and carers, we have a range of support, training, advice and funding for childcare providers and early education services throughout Staffordshire
Children's Trust: Staffordshire Children's Trust brings together all services for children and young people in the County to focus on improving outcomes for all children and young people.
Children and Family Services: Children and Family Social Work Teams provide advice, support and social work to families - parents, children and other carers. They can provide access to a range of services designed to support families under pressure and to assist parents to care for their own children.
Protection for Children: The Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board brings together representatives of each of the main agencies and professionals responsible for helping to protect children from abuse and neglect.
Children's Services Directory: This system will allow you to search our database of services provided specifically for children.
In addition to the above there are some national websites which can also provide access to help and support:
DirectGov/parents:
A govemment website with a wide variety of information for parents and carers.
Parent's Centre:
A government sponsored website with information and support for parents on how to help with a child's learning; including advice on choosing a school and finding childcare.
