Forms PN1 2008/2009 for new students, available from Local Authority. Normally distributed by LA to Staffordshire and Stoke schools and colleges.

New students to provide their passport (or birth certificate, if they do not have a passport) as proof of identity. We arrange special visit days to schools and colleges, when students can get their identity checked and recorded. |

Forms PR1/PR1a for continuing students issued to renewing applicants. |

Student Finance Direct customer portal live for online 2008/09 applications. |

End April 2008: |
Recommended last date for all students to apply for non means tested support. |

End May 2008: |
Recommended last date for continuing students to apply for means tested support. |

End June 2008: |
Recommended last date for new students to apply for means tested support. |

June 2008 onwards: |
Student receives Financial Notification confirming support payable

Student notifies LA of any course/college changes. |

SLC issues Payment Confirmation Letter. |

First payment of maintenance loan. |
