Education Maintenance Allowance

If you want to stay on at school after you are 16, but are worried about the costs, you may be able to get help.

The Education Maintenance Allowance is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30 a week, depending on household income.  It's intended to help with day-to-day costs, such as travel, books and equipment, for those who stay on at school after they are 16.
