Looked After Children
The service aims to promote resilience and improved outcomes for looked after children, care leavers and adopted children by providing and supporting non-stigmatising, stable placements and after care arrangements.
Looked After Permanency & Through Care Teams
The Looked After Service provides support care management and permanency planning services to children and young people, who are looked after, placed for adoption and leaving care. The Looked After Service area teams also provide support to young people leaving care and not returning to their own families to enable them to live independently in the community
Family Placement & Adoption Services
We have a range of foster homes throughout the County to care for children who cannot be supported in their own families and aim to place each child or young person after a careful assessment of their needs and wishes. The service recruits, assesses, prepares and supports foster carers.
The Adoption Agency provides adoption services to place children and young people who need a permanent family and for people who wish to adopt a child or young person. The Adoption Team's recruit, assess, prepare and support adopters, find adoptive families for children and provide post adoption support to young people and families.
Residential Care
Residential care provides residential children's homes for young people aged 12 - 17 who cannot be supported in their own families and aim to place each young person after a careful assessment of their needs and wishes.
