Lifelong Learning and Partnerships
The mission of the Lifelong Learning and Partnerships Division is to work with partners to promote inclusive learning communities across Staffordshire, helping to make Staffordshire an even better place to live, work, visit and invest. It comprises four services:
Early Years and Childcare Service
The Early Years and Childcare Service works in partnership with private, voluntary and maintained organisations to deliver high quality child-centered services so that children and their families are empowered to enjoy their lives and reach their full potential.
For more information, go to the
Early Years and Childcare web site.
Outdoor Education Service (OEC)
The Outdoor Education Service is able to provide every Staffordshire pupil with the opportunity of a quality residential experience. There are residential outdoor education centres (OEC) at Chasewater, Laches Wood, Shugborough and Standon Bowers. All of our centres offer outdoor education to children and young people from primary, middle and secondary schools as well as young people from youth organisations. In addition, the Laches Wood OEC has top quality family accommodation and offers Forest Schools programmes and Family Learning activities for pre-school children and their families.

Youth Service
Staffordshire Youth Service is a partnership between young people, the County Council and the voluntary sector. It works with the Staffordshire Council for Voluntary Youth Services to provide high quality services for young people across the county. Whatever the background, culture or circumstance the Youth Service is there to help young people see that they are unique and with support and opportunity can make informed decisions and take responsibility for their lives. Most of all the Youth Service is about having fun, providing places for young people to meet and 'chill', try new things, develop new skills and take 'time out' from their hectic lives.
