Education Inclusion Division:
This division consists of services which provide help and support to pupils, families, schools and other agencies in dealing with a range of concerns. It consists of about 22 social work staff linked to the Health Service and the Education Department. Some are based within specific teams providing advice, counselling and group work for children with mental health needs and families experiencing difficulties in managing their children's behaviour.
Educational Psychology Service (EPS)
The Educational Psychology Service has teams in 4 district offices. As well as being involved in the assessment of pupils who may have special educational needs the EPS offers advice to school staff on teaching and learning, and behaviour. They also offer support to schools when a 'critical incident' such as the sudden death of a pupil or member of staff occurs.
