Family Support and Activities
We offer families from Biddulph and the surrounding areas, who have children under 5yrs, the opportunity to learn and promote social, physical, intellectual, cultural and emotional development.
Daily sessions are run by friendly, experienced and qualified staff, who all provide quality childcare and early learning experiences in a safe, happy and caring environment.
We praise and encourage children and their parents, promoting learning and development through fun activities. Sessions are held within the centre and at community venues throughout the Biddulph area.

Parents Forum
These meetings are held every 2 months to give parents an opportunity to have their say in helping the Children's Centre grow. If you are interested in attending our Parents Forum please contact the Children's Centre on 01782 297970.
Having Fun with Play workshops
Develops parents awareness of play, how important play is for a child's development areas. Gives parents/carers the opportunity to become confident about play, enabling them to help their child's confidence. The final session is a practical session including jelly, baked beans, dough, gloop and much more.
Parent Contact Workers
Our Parent Contact Workers offer advice and support to families in their home environment.
The Parent Contact Workers take referrals from Health Professionals, Social Workers and other agencies. The Families may be isolated or facing challenges within every day life and will be supported for as long as they need to be. The families may also be linked to other agencies who can offer support and advice.
Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC)

A 13 week parenting programme that uniquely and creatively empowers parents/carers. It assists parents with a 'Process of discipline' to encourage their ability to respond instead of react, takes into consideration learning styles, values and family experiences. It decreases a sense of isolation.
The programme also covers causes of behaviours, special time, the nature of humans, consequences and behaviour, praise and incentives, developing empathy, emotions, managing anger, confrontation and logical consequences, family rules/contracts and managing conflict.
The aim is to build a special relationship between parent/carer and children that provides support and guidance.

Parenting Programme
Being a parent is the most important job we will ever do. Our programme runs for approximately 6 weeks and covers a range of topics such as; time to reflect, managing difficult times and offers you the chance to meet and chat with other parents in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Healthy Eating
We have our own catering staff who offer a range of healthy foods, using a variety of fresh local produce and the healthiest of cooking methods.
We have recently achieved the Gold Healthy Eating and Oral Health Award.
Young Parents Group
This group is specially tailored for young parents and their children. Various activities
are available and lunch is provided. Run from the Community Centre on Church Rd, Biddulph Tuesdays 1.00pm-3.00pm (term time only). No booking required.
Health Professionals (PCT)
We provide a range of services all delivered by healthcare professionals such as; Health Visitors, School Nurse, Speech & Language Therapist, Paediatric Physiotherapist and more. Baby weigh-in: Tuesday 9.45am-12noon (no booking required).
Sensory Room
Experience a relaxing and interactive session, designed to stimulate your child's senses, encouraging responses to light and music.
Equipment from this room is also available to hire.
Play & Stay sessions
Activity sessions where you stay with your child, meet new parents, watch your child as they make new friends and learn through various activities including soft play and messy play.
Leisure Activities for parents
Time for yourself to enjoy various leisure activities at Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre while your child is cared for by our friendly staff. Boxercise, Swimming etc.
Adult & Community Learning workshops
A wide variety of workshops for adults with creche provision. Previous workshops have included: Gardening, Computing, Photography, Home Composting, Aromatherapy and many more.

Music, singing, movement and fun with music for children from 4 months.
Special Educational Needs (SEN)
At the Children's Centre we promote inclusion for all and work with a range of agencies to integrate children with additional needs.
Breakfast Club
Let your child play while you have a chat with other parents and have a nice healthy breakfast (no booking required).
Ante-natal Breakfast Club
Make new friends before the birth of your baby and get lots of information to help prepare you to prepare you for your life with your new baby. Partners are welcome.
