Management Board

The job of the Management Board is to set the strategic direction for the Centre and its services - and to then ensure that the quantity, quality, impact and costs of its services are monitored.

Its role is to act - under most circumstances - as the effective Governing Body for the Centre and to assist the Local Authority (LA) by providing advice and local and specialist knowledge to assist in achievement of the LA's aims and objectives by ensuring that its particular Service Level Agreement is agreed and performed.

The members of the Board are parents and other people with an interest in the Centre and its work with children under 5 and their families. That includes Managers from other organisations, for example the NHS and the voluntary sector. The Chair is elected from among the members and is currently Yvonne Hancock (April 2011) who is a parent.

The Board meets four times per calendar year, and the agenda for each meeting is done by the Chair of the Board and the Head of Centre. Others may contact either of these people to put items on the agenda.

Anyone who is interested in more information about the work of the Management Board, please feel free to contact Anette Whitehouse, Head of Centre, on 01785 854700.

The full Constitution of the Board is available on request.
