Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to get help paying for childcare.
Tax Credits
You may be eligable to claim for tax credits. The main tax credits for families are Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit, 9 out of 10 families with children are entitled to receive tax credits. Free child places
Some 2 year olds could be eligible to receive funding for a childcare place.The authority is running a pilot scheme for disadvantage two year olds in the county to provide up to 10 hours a week worth of free childcare, during term times only. Parents of 2 year old children will have to meet the eligibilty criteria.
All 3 and 4 year olds living in Staffordshire are entitled to receive up to 15 hours week of free childcare (term times only) from the term after a child's 3rd birthday. You do not have to attend the childcare setting full-time or even part-time to qualify for this. You can simply attend the setting for your free places, providing the setting has places available.

Care to Learn Scheme
If you are a parent aged under 19 years and are continuing a course at school or at college you may be able to get help with the costs of registered childcare through the Care to Learn Scheme. Call the Care to Learn helpline on 0845 600 2809 for more information.
