Qualifications

Autumn Term 2010 saw the launch of the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) which will replace the National Qualification Framework.

The QCF is great for both employers and learners and aims to provide Awards, Certificates and Diplomas that are fit for purpose, promoting both a confident and competent workforce.  It also supports bite-sized "chunks" of learning that can be "banked" and "built upon" to achieve whole Awards, Certificates and Diplomas.

Following an extensive review of all early years and childcare related qualifications, the new Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce is launched.  There is also a new Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce - which provides a stepping stone towards Level 3.

Level 3 qualifications and progression toward a graduate led workforce (EYP's) remain a focus of the Local Authority and where possible, financial support may be available.

All qualifications previously achieved and checked against the CWDC Qualification Finder database| (for those delivering Early Years Foundation Stage) remain current and valid.

If you are unsure if your qualification meets the full criteria, please call the Childrens Workforce Development Council on 0300 123 1033 or, contact our Workforce Development Team|.
