Support for Voluntary Managed Committees
Important information for person in charge and the manager.
If you are a voluntary management committee of either a pre-school or out of school club, you may need some support with committee issues such as recruitment issues, staffing issues or employment law.
- As a committee, are you aware of your legal responsibilities relating to Ofsted?
- Does your committee consist of at least a Chairperson, treasurer, secretary and two other committee members?
- If there been a change to the Person in Charge of the setting, has Ofsted been informed?
- If you have appointed any new committee members, have you notified Ofsted?
- Have all your committee had CRB checks?
- Have all the committee members completed DC2s?
- Has your organisation a formal constitution (rules of how the organisation is run)?
If you have answered "No" to any of the above, you may be in breach of your Ofsted registration, resulting in an inadequate inspection, or putting committee members at risk of financial liability. You should contact the Workforce Development Team.
