Graduate Leader Fund
2008 - 2011
This replaces 'The Transformation Fund' with effect from 1st April 2008.
The focus of the Graduate Leader Fund is to support the government's objective to have a graduate leader to increase quality and lead professional practice in Children's Centres by 2010 and in every private, voluntary and independent (PVI) full day-care setting by 2015.
The funding is available to all settings who meet the eligibility criteria. It may be used towards the training and support of an existing member of staff currently on the way to becoming a Graduate Leader (e.g. undertaking a Foundation Degree in Early Years or the BA Hons (Top up) in Early Childhood Studies or equivalent, with the intention of progressing to Early years Professional Status (EYPS).
Settings who have a newly recruited graduate or an established Graduate Leader in place either qualified or working towards EYP status may apply for the funding to support the cost of continuing professional development or salary enhancement to assist in staff retention.
