Early Support

Qualifications in working with children with disabilities and special needs

This is a national programme and aims to deliver improved outcomes to parents of children with disabilities through better co-ordination of services. It stems from Government priorities for restructuring children's services in response to Every Child Matters and the National Service Framework for children.  Children's Centres are expected to use the Early Support approach and materials to deliver high quality services for families of young disabled children up to the age of 5yrs.

Early Years and Childcare will be able to fund accredited courses for practitioners with an interest in young children with disabilities and special educational needs. There will be Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications available.

Further information on how to access these courses will be available soon.

You can find additional information about Early Support at www.earlysupport.org.uk and www.cwdcouncil.org.uk
