Adult and Community Learning Service

Casual Tutors

Rate of pay £22.05 per teaching hour for Skills for Life Tutors.

Rate of pay £18.25 per teaching hour for all other tutors.

The Adult and Community Learning Service works collaboratively with organisations and local communities to deliver a comprehensive range of high quality learning opportunities for adults and families across the county. The Service provides the first steps of learning for individuals who would not traditionally participate in any form of learning. The programmes we deliver focus on removing barriers to further learning, raising confidence and developing self-esteem.   Our courses vary in length from 12 to 72 hours and take place in local community venues in all 8 districts of Staffordshire.

Due to increased demand for our programmes, the Service is looking for more tutors .  Successful applicants will be registered on our Tutor database and will be offered short-term teaching commitments as and when they arise.

Tutors must be qualified to level 3 (A level or equivalent) and be registered with the IFL (www.ifl.ac.uk) at Associate or Full Member level.

Skills for Life Tutors are also needed across the county.  These tutors require a level 5 qualification in Literacy, Numeracy or Language.

Tutors must also be prepared to participate in staff development and will receive guidance and support to improve their practice, where necessary. These posts require a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) declaration.
