World Mental Health Day Celebrations at Rudyard Lake, Rudyard, Staffordshire Moorlands on Saturday 11th October 2008.

We invite all Families affected by mental health issues to a fun filled day of activities and also to all members of the public.

Richard C. Hunter, Deputy Secretary General of WFMH from 1983 through 2002, envisioned world mental health day as a global and unified effort to promote greater public awareness and understanding of mental health and mental illness. His dream continues to be realized each year on October 10 - now celebrated annually as World Mental Health Day in over 100 countries!  Staffordshire is part of this promotion of greater understanding and is building on the success of last year's event.

The Adult and Community Learning Service (ACL) is working in partnership with Rethink, Grundtvig Crossing the Bridge Project, Social & Vocational Support Project and Leek Social Enterprise.     This invitation is for everyone affected by mental health issues, including all extended family members, as well as all members of the public to help promote awareness.   Come and join us at beautiful Rudyard Lake where we make full use of the natural resources of this famous Staffordshire beauty spot.  We have a huge range of activities, there is something for everyone, take a moment please to read and choose from the following:
