Lichfield Bower 2008
As a joint project between Community and Learning partnership, Library Service and Adult & Community Learning Service here at Staffordshire County Council, we entered a pirate ship float in The Lichfield Festival 2008. Although the Spring Bank Holiday weather was cold and blustery, it didn't dampen the spirits of the record breaking crowd and a great time was had by both entrants and onlookers.
The venture was aimed at promoting our joint services, showing that learning is fun, from designing, calculating and building the float to the costume designs and their accessories. I know we achieved our aim by the enthusiusm of the crowd and the responses we received.
The jewel in the crown was being presented with a 3rd place in the Competitive Tableau. A big thank you to all the parents and children of the Willows Primary School, Lichfield who took part in this project and who helped achieve this success. Thank you.
