The Appeals Process
LA writes to you with an offer of a school place and gives you a deadline to lodge an appeal.

The admission authority must arrange an appeal hearing which must be heard by 6th July or the nearest working date.

At least 10 working days before the hearing the admission authority writes to you giving you the date of the hearing.

You confirm your attendance.

You start to prepare your case.
Organisations such as ACE can help.

Seven days before the hearing you receive all the appeal papers.

Three working days before the hearing, you receive the names of the panel and any additional information.

Day of appeal hearing.
Within 5 days you are notified of the decision

If you think the hearing was not managed properly, you can write to the Local Government Ombudsman
