Admissions to Nursery Age Settings in September 2010

Decisions will be released on 17 May 2010.

Application forms and information booklets are available for parents and carers to apply for a nursery class place in September 2010 if you have not done so already.  Your completed application form should be returned to the School Admissions and Transport Service. 

There are a number of Primary, First and Infant schools throughout the County that have designated nursery classes.  Pupils are admitted to these schools at a single point of entry in the September of the year in which they become four.  Each school will be able to provide information about how they will be offering the free nursery entitlement. A list of these schools are included in the above information booklet.

Designated nursery classes within Primary, Infant and First schools admit children at a single point of entry in the September of the academic year in which they become four.

September 2010 - dob 01.09.06 - 31.08.07
September 2011 - dob 01.09.07 - 31.08.08 
September 2012 - dob 01.09.08 - 31.08.09

There are a number of other settings that are privately run and also cater for nursery age children from the term after a child's third birthday.  Further details of these establishments and how to apply can be obtained from the Family Information Service on 0845 650 9876.

There are also a small number of schools that offer a foundation stage class.  These offer reception and nursery provision in one base with reception children attending full time and nursery aged children attending on a part time basis depending on the arrangements in place at each school. A list of these schools are included in the above information booklet.

There is no right of appeal for admission to a maintained nursery.
