What We Do
Youth Offending Teams
Staffordshire Youth Offending Service (SYOS) operates as part of the Youth Justice System in England and Wales. SYOS plays an integral role within
The Youth Justice Process. There are three Youth Offending Teams (YOT's) located throughout the county which make up the Staffordshire Youth Offending Service. SYOS has a multi-agency approach working with young people and parents through the
Intensive Supervision
& Surveillance Programme,
Intensive Fostering project and through
Parenting Support. SYOS also focuses on
Victims, Restorative Justice & Reparation. Involving victims of crime committed by young offenders in the Youth Justice process
and helping them to get over any harm done, are key elements of the Youth Justice Board's (YJB) aims and objectives.
Sports Development within SYOS works to increase participation in sport and active recreation, contributing to the reduction in crime and anti social behaviour and providing positive volunteering pathways into sport and active recreation.
Prevention Team
Staffordshire Youth Offending Service (SYOS) believes that preventing youth crime and anti-social behaviour is the way forward in reducing the number of young people in the
criminal justice system. The Prevention Service operates throughout the county focusing on Crime Prevention. The Prevention Service also works with children in care .
