Bereavement Resources

Below are details of some of the organisations that can help and support you following a bereavement. These are links to external organisations and Staffordshire County Council is not responsible for the content of these sites.

BRITISH ORGAN DONOR SOCIETY - BODY

A self help and support group for families of organ donors and those who have received organs. They also welcome calls from people waiting to receive organs and those whose relatives have died after a transplant or whilst waiting for a transplant.

Cruse Bereavement Care

This is a nationwide bereavement organisation that provides counselling, advice, information and social contact through its headquarters and local branches to anyone bereaved.

The National Association of Bereavement Services

Hold a national directory of bereavement and loss services and can direct people to their nearest and most appropriate source of support. They can be contacted at:

The Samaritans

A nationwide network offering support and someone to talk to. There are 180 branches nationwide which are open 24 hours a day.

 

Stillbirth and Neonatal death Society (SANDS)

Offers support to parents bereaved through pregnancy loss, stillbirth or neonatal death.
