Challenge 25Staffordshire County Council's Trading Standards team is  working hard to stamp out underage sales of age restricted goods such as alcohol, cigarettes, fireworks, knives and DVDs/video games.

The team supports the Challenge 25 scheme.

This is a national scheme designed to cut underage drinking by asking anyone who looks under the age of 25 to show photo identification when purchasing alcohol from retailers, bars and pubs.

The scheme has been adopted by the Trading Standards Institute, Association of Chief Police Officers and a wide number of national retailers.

Acceptable forms of identification include passports, photo driving licences or proof of age cards bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram, which is the hallmark indicating that the card issuer has passed a stringent and rigorous audit process carried out by Trading Standards Officers and can be relied upon.
