Animal Health & Welfare

Welcome to Staffordshire County Council's Animal Health Web Site.

Our Animal Health team enforces legislation designed to protect the health and welfare of livestock and farm animals.

Responsibilities include monitoring and influencing the standards of animal health and welfare on farms, in transport and at markets, to ensure that they are protected from cruelty and avoidable pain and prevent the spread of disease.

We have a team of dedicated officers who are on hand to assist and advise farmers in complying with their statutory obligations.

From cattle identification to who to phone in an emergency, if you can not find out the information on this site please contact us.

Opening times for the team are Mon to Thurs 08.30 am to 5.00 pm and Fri 08.30 am to 4.30 pm

Our friendly staff are on the end of a telephone to answer your questions or queries. There is no charge for the service.
