Pre-Qualification

The County Council has adopted the Constructionline and SOPO Accredit Qualification/Accreditation Service, in order to assist tenderers in reducing the burden of having to complete numerous documents each time they submit a tender.

All tenderers who are accredited by Constructionline, SOPO Accredit or BiP Select Accredit need not complete a large part of any Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire (PQQ) or Tender Document (ITT).

If you are already registered with Constructionline, SOPO Accredit or BiP Select Accredit, please simply quote your registration details below where required within the PQQ or ITT and only complete any additional sections you are requested to.

For further information about Constructionline registration please telephone 0870 240 0152, email constructionline@capita.co.uk or download an application form from the "APPLY" section of the website (www.constructionline.co.uk).

For non-construction related works, services and supplies go to www.sopoaccredit.org/index.htm  or telephone SOPO Accredit on 0845 270 7094.

Or www.bipselect.com/index.html or telephone BiP SELECT on 0845 270 7094.

Health & Safety

Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) (this Local Authorities' organisation is used to check contractors' Health and Safety compliance). This compliance check is valid for an 18 month period whereupon it would need to be re-checked.

For further information about CHAS please telephone 0208 545 3838 or view the link entitled "How do I get assessed by CHAS" on their website (www.chas.gov.uk).

Insurance

The County Council's requirements for insurance for the vast majority of contracts are:

Public Liability Insurance level - minimum £5million

Employers Liability Insurance level - minimum £10 million

Depending on the type of contract, value and risk, you may also be required to provide professional indemnity insurance of at least £2 million.

Contract specific levels of insurance will always be stipulated within Pre-Qualifying Questionnaires and/or Invitation to tender documents.

The Council is committed to fulfilling its duty to protect children and vulnerable adults to whom it provides a service by ensuring the highest integrity of those appointed to positions of trust and in doing so, complying with the relevant legislation and codes of practice.  Use this link to view the Criminal Records Policy Document.
