Staffordshire ICT
Introduction
Staffordshire ICT delivers all of the corporate Information and communications activity for the County Council and its users. These activities and functions include the delivery of Internet services, Directorate applications, SAP, all of the main office systems which provides full e-mail, electronic diary and shared filing facilities.
Our services include:
First line support including the service desk and user application support.
All technical support functions including the network & communications, disaster recovery and desktop & server support.
The development and maintenance of application systems, IT security.
All Staffordshire ICT office support facilities including procurement, the project office, performance, Staffordshire ICT strategy, standards and research and IT training courses via our own training centre
Staffordshire ICT also manages the County Council's Data and Voice Telecommunications. The corporate data network has many thousands of users directly connected through the Local Area Network and also provides access for many more users via remote links. The many thousands of telephone extensions around the county are connected to the corporate voice network. As well as allowing direct dialing to every extension on the network, incoming calls can be transferred to any extension on the network, thus improving the service to the public. Outgoing calls routed to achieve the most favorable cost.
How do we Procure?
All goods and services procured by the Council are paid for with public money and rules are in place to ensure a high level of transparency in all stages of the procurement process. Broadly speaking the rules fall into five groups:
- European Procurement Directives
- UK legislation
- Financial Regulations of the Council
- Procurement Policy and Strategy and Contract Standing Orders
- Policy decisions of the Council
