Cannock Chase Council
Cannock Chase Council is committed to working with businesses to ensure the district is an attractive place to live, work, visit and invest in.
The Council's Economic Development Service assists businesses in a variety of ways, including:
- Land and Premises Information
The supply of information on all available industrial and commercial land and premises via a database which is updated on a regular basis.
- Business Information
The Council maintains a detailed database of local businesses, from which information can be sold to interested parties for a modest charge and produces a Business Directory which will be available for purchase by the end of 1998.
- Case Officer/Aftercare
Support for indigenous businesses via a structured aftercare programme to enable difficulties encountered by local businesses to be investigated in an impartial way.

Borough of East Staffordshire
The Economic Development Service operates a number of support schemes and financial assistance for local companies.
- Productivity Scheme
A package of financial support which is available to independent manufacturing and some service businesses in the Burton area who wish to improve their competitiveness.
- Gateways Grant
Business on key routes into Burton can benefit from grant aid towards work to improve their sites and premises.
- Job Link
Companies investing and creating new jobs can be eligible for financial assistance. Up to £2,900 per job is available to cover the costs of training and recruitment.
- Property Enquiry Service
A database of all vacant industrial and commercial land and property is maintained.

Lichfield District Council
With easy access to the motorway network, Birmingham International Airport, the NEC and the planned Birmingham Northern Relief Road motorway, Lichfield District is perfectly and centrally situated for all communications - without the congestion suffered by many other areas.
The Council's Economic Development Section provides support, guidance and information to any company considering location, relocation or investment within Lichfield District.
- Information and guidance to assist with investment decision-making.
- Advice on the availability of land and premises, including the regular publication of an Industrial and Commercial Property Bulletin.
- Help with bidding for external funds and grant aid.
- Liaison with local authority colleagues on planning and environmental issues.

Newcastle Borough Council
Several national and international companies have seen their business flourish thanks to Newcastle-under-Lyme's position in the heart of Britain and its closeness to the M6 motorway network. The completion of the A50 sees the M6 linked to the M1 thereby improving East/West and North/South communications.
Newcastle Borough Council provides advice to all businesses already located in or considering relocating to the Borough. Its main aim is to attract and encourage new and existing businesses both into the Borough and the North Staffordshire Conurbation.
The Council offers the following assistance to businesses:

South Staffordshire Council
Wrapped around the northern and western edges of the West Midlands Conurbation, South Staffordshire combines rural charm with excellent communications. Much of the District has full Development Area status to assist private investment and employment generation.

The Council owns and manages a large number of industrial units from 500 to 4,000 sq.ft. which are available on competitive terms.

Tamworth Borough Council
Strategically located within the heart of the UK and with direct access to the M42 and the rest of the motorway network, Tamworth has benefited from significant industrial and commercial development in recent years.

- Lease of Council-owned industrial units up to 4,400 sq.ft on competitive terms.

City of Stoke-on-Trent Unitary Authority
Since gaining Unitary Authority Status Stoke-on-Trent City Council has continued to work in partnership with Staffordshire County Council in the promotion of economic development in the County taking on similar functions to the County in this field.
