Economic Regeneration in Staffordshire
External Funding
Staffordshire County Council is a key partner in regeneration and funding programme partnerships and has been successful in securing funding for a wide range of projects and initiatives. Recent examples include:
- Employment Sites - Lymedale Business Park and Silverdale Enterprise Park
- Managed Workspace - Lymedale Business Centre, Uttoxeter Business Centre and St Albans House Enterprise Centre, Stafford
- Business Support - Staffordshire Business Support Fund and Staffordshire ReThink Energy Grants
- Tourism- Staffordshire Destination Management Partnership
The County Council also currently manages a number of external funding streams that support the economic agenda including:
- Staffordshire Business Support Fund - The County is working together with the Black Country Reinvestment Society (BCRS) to create the Staffordshire Business Support Fund. From November BCRS will be able to provide loans to small businesses of £10,000 to £50,000 which will be repayable over a four year period. Companies will have to be based in Staffordshire, employ less than 50 employees, and have been turned down by the conventional banks. - Redundant Buildings Grant - is part of a comprehensive programme of rural regeneration funded by Advantage West Midlands. The scheme offers financial assistance to eligible projects and is designed to help bring redundant buildings back into productive use. The RBG scheme allocated its balance of funds in November 2009. - Staffordshire Aggregates Levy Grant Scheme (SALGS) - compensating communities from the effects of quarrying activity by funding projects with an environmental sustainability theme
- Communities Mean Business (LEADER) - supporting rural community capacity building in Stafford Borough and Staffordshire Moorlands
- ReThink Energy Grants - promoting and facilitating renewable energy in Staffordshire's businesses
