What the Start Up Mentoring Scheme Covers
Through a monthly practical workshop, you’ll receive expert guidance on:
Registering Your Business
How to register as a Limited Company (Companies House), Sole Trader, or Partnership.
Essential Business Insurance
Understanding what insurance your new business may need, including liability, employer, and professional cover.
Accounting & Bookkeeping Support
Gain clarity on your financial responsibilities, bookkeeping, tax obligations and UTR requirements.
Every District and Borough Council in Staffordshire has a dedicated Start Up Advisor delivering monthly workshops and ongoing support.

This support is fully funded by Staffordshire County Council

Eligibility
To join, you must be:
- Based in Staffordshire (excluding Stoke-on-Trent)
- A business aged 0–5 years
