Staffordshire's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Strategy

The county council and Staffordshire’s Clinical Commissioning Groups are working with others to improve the way children with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) are supported.

The new SEND strategy comes following lengthy engagement, co-production and consultation with parents, professionals, the NHS and school representatives in the county. 

Together we identified a number of key priority areas to focus on, including improving communication with families and joint working between the county council, NHS and schools; providing support to children and young people more quickly; and improving awareness of SEND in the community and increasing access to out-of-school activities.
