Businesses given chance to grow with SEQM
Businesses across Staffordshire are being given the chance to get a boost in 2012 with the Staffordshire Environmental Quality Mark (SEQM).
The SEQM offers businesses in the tourism, accommodation and food industries the chance to reach new customers who want to support the local economy and buy ethical products.
Staffordshire County Council and Enjoy Staffordshire are working together to promote the scheme in January, giving companies the chance to start reaping the benefits during the spring and summer tourist seasons.
Businesses including Colton House in Rugeley, the Dudson Museum in Stoke and Simply Staffordshire in Denstone are already part of the scheme.
As well as attracting new customers, SEQM holders benefit from reduced running costs and free membership of the Staffordshire Business Environment Network.
Staffordshire County Councillor Mark Winnington, Cabinet Member for Environment and Assets, said the SEQM scheme offered a real boost for businesses. “The growth of local businesses is fundamental to Staffordshire prosperity, and is a key part of Staffordshire County Council’s agenda. Joining the SEQM scheme, which is for free for a limited period, gives businesses a real chance to grow and expand into new, high spending, markets. As a businessman myself I can see real value in this scheme and I encourage businesses across the county to thrive by signing up this month.”
