Lapland West Midlands: how to get your money back

Families who paid to attend the defunct Lapland West Midlands event have three principal ways of obtaining refunds. They are:

  • Contact PayPal at  www.paypal.com  . PayPal processed orders taken through the Lapland West Midlands Website. PayPal operates a Buyer Protection Recovery Policy that should provide a refund.

(Please note that PayPal is based in Luxembourg and is not generally contactable by telephone. The website carries contact details)

  • If you have paid by credit card, contact your card company
  • Write requesting a full refund to the organiser: Mr M James, Tall Trees Park, Macham Lane, Christchurch, Nr Bournemouth, BH23 6AW

Carol Dean, the county council's Cabinet Member for Safer and Stronger Communities said: "Thankfully very few paying customers came to the site on Saturday. Trading Standards Officers advised three families directly and we received a further four complaints to Consumer Direct over the weekend. We have no way of knowing how many people bought tickets and were either put off attending by the volume of publicity or took one look at the site and decided to drive off. We expect to receive further complaints today. We would urge people to pursue getting their money.

"We do expect to receive details of how many people paid through the website, although we may not have those details for another 10 days."
